Canadian Automotive Repair and Service (CARS) Council Essential Skills Assessment Final Report

This report by the Towes Department at Bow Valley College, provides the results of the field study administration of the Essential Skills assessment of Oral Communications and Thinking Skills developed for the Canadian Automotive Repair and Service (CARS) Council.  The field study was part of the project to develop and administer an assessment tool to evaluate Oral Communications and Thinking Skills in the automotive aftermarket.  Almost 500 participants from the mechanical and collision sub-sectors completed this assessment.  The report will be a particular interest to educators, instructors and career counsellors in the trades.
